Aftermarket Mirror Stalk Length?

I want to replace the mirrors on my '99 with a set that have the exposed 'stalk'. I know that mirrors off a CBR600 will mount up, but are they the same length? The stalks on the VFR are 4&1/2 inches. On eBay, there's mirrors shown fitting various CBRs, and there are a few sets that specify they are 'long'. If I got the others, would I be looking at my arms all the time, or would I be abel to angle them out enough to still be able to see? Anybody else done this? What mirrors did you use? I can't find any mirros specifically for the newer VFRs that had the exposed stalk.

CBR mirrors WILL NOT fit. I picked up a pair of carbon fiber mirrors on EBAY that said they fit "CBR, VFR, etc" they didn't fit. Like the other guy said, just use the y2k mirrors. They have the exposed stalk.

Yeah, the problem is that the Y2Ks are SOOO much more 'spensive. The CBRs you can get for like $40. I thought I read somewhere on here that the mirrors off a CBR600RR would fit, but maybe I dreamed it.

 

It's possible that the mirrors from the 600RR will fit. The ones I bought said F2, F3, F4, VFR, VTR, XX, etc.. on the EBAY description. They didn't fit at all and I sold them to a guy with a F4i. To be honest, I don't even know if they work on the CBR's. I've never seen these mirrors again on EBAY. The guy I sold them to never mentioned anything and he didn't say he was going to try to kick my ass so I guess he liked them ;D

The 600RR might have a different mirror. I guess the easiest way would be to check them out at a local Honda dealer...
