I purchased a set of aftermarket carb boots a while back and am having trouble installing them. The appear to be too be too wide. I couldn't get the bands around them and had to cut the inside tabs. They were also very hard to install because the boots and the bands were too wide and inter-feared with other lines etc on the engine. Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions on where to buy the correct boots? Thanks .

Link to which ones you bought.

The only ones I would buy are Honda, K&L and TourMax.

But no. Have not had that problem. Don't even remember reading about it til now. Perhaps you for got some for another model by accident.

This is my problem. The boots I purchased are much wider than the original ones. Here is a photo. Beware the cheap copies.

I removed the top covers and inspected the cams and they look fine. I am lucky that the bike has not been driven too hard.
