I'm pretty new to motorcycles and one thing I haven't heard modders talk about is ignition. Most of my car friends who look at modding their cars for performance will at least talk about adding MSD Ignition or something like it. Is there anything like this for motorcycles?

All that I have been able to figure out so far is that if you get a dyno jet power commander 3 usb you can plug dyno jet's ignition module into it and this will allow you to advance or retard the ignition timing through the power commander. Dyno jet says it only applies to certain models. I need to look into this, but I still haven't even figured out which header or slip on I'm going to get yet...

If your spark is adequate, going to a hotter spark will not buy you anything. A lot of guys in the car arena don't need and don't get any real boost in hp from MSD boxes and the like over an adequate CDI stock setup. Unless it's for electronically adjustable timing and bragging rights. If your spark is not adequate enough to light the fire, because of high compression or large amounts of fuel. Then a hotter spark will definitely help. Put your money else where for power.
