Advice on NC 24 purhase.

Hi all. I currently have a VFR 5th gen and am thinking of getting a NCR 24 for my son as a first bike. Hes not passed his test so am looking at one tomorrow that looks as if needs some work on it which he doesnt mind doing. Teach him to look after it etc. So any pointers would be most welcome.
