It's around page 138 in the Owner's Manual. I have the ABS so that just has a knob to turn so I'm not sure if the spanner they show is the same as the one used during chain tension adjustment. Looks like it has seven settings for preload plus the damping adjustment.

Positions 3 to 7: for when the motorcycle is more heavily loaded. (Also increase spring pre-load for stiffer rear suspension.)
    Position 2: standard position.
Position 1: for a light load and smooth road conditions.

Did you adjust your damping already? That is just a small screw on the shock. Mine came set fully to the soft position. I recently turned it to the full hard setting and backed off about 1/2 turn, that seemed to help a lot.

Suspension setup is a whole process to set sag and several other things, I am not really familiar with the details. It seems I have seen that the more big boned riders or those hauling lots of gear or riding two up need the preload set as high as it will go and even then it could use some more.
