So I'm getting ready to put the motor back in my 3rd gen project. Looking at the set up of the airbox and associated snorkel. I'm using a 04 CBR600RR front race fairing with little inlets on both sided. It looks like I could easily fabs some smooth bore tubing to connect into a modified snorkel area. Assuming I can get a straight enough shot to the air box, it should be pretty easy to do. I'd have to run the float bowl vent tubes to the air box as well to balance the pressures and play with the main jet sizes but that's not that big of a deal. Don't expect huge gains but may add a little extra punch at speed.

I've searched and haven't found anyone mentioning this. Wouldn't be too much work. Anyone have any experience or tried this?

Have heard of second han of someone trying and had the differential pressure problem you have already considered I.e bowl bent tube.

Good luck. I have a spare 3rd gen airbox for cheap if you need.

Man, I'm guessing you have enough extra parts to build a second bike! Kinda like that with ZX7 parts in my garage, quickly becoming VFR parts too.

Getting carbs right is tough. I'm going to do what I did with my ZX7 ram air / float bowl vents and see what happens. I just gotta keep the bends and twist in the ram intake to a minimum. Can't lose anything but time trying.
