Hope some of you can help me out. I just chaged the battery in my '03 abs and now the ABS indicator light in the cluster is on. Not sure if I may have done something when I did a small burnout in my drive with the front brake lever slightly on (bonehead move but I couldn't help myself).Anyone have any suggestions? Brakes seem to work fine but I don't like it when something isn't right. Thanx guys.

Don't know about the bike abs but im sure its the same as a car, in that case doing a burnout on an ABS bike would be a bad thing to do, ABS is worked by a computer as im sure you know if you spin one wheel faster that the other wheel then the computer hasn't a clue whats happin and thinks there is a problem with your front wheel (putting your light on)

This normally happens in our place with cars that we service on the ramp with all 4 wheels in the air. start the engine to fill the oil filter and the diff spins the wheels... ABS light comes on, the fix to that with cars is to take them for a run they normally clear the code in the computer and put the light out.

Try taking your bike for a run and see if the light goes out, if not it will have to go to a honda dealer and put on the computer to reset the ABS..

Good luck and let me know if it works...

I am assuming you have gone over 10mph to activate the ABS... Also you can reset it yourself via a simple procedure. Download the manual and give it a shot.

Hey I could be talking out of my butt for all you know... only my butt knows and it's not tellin

One thing for sure in the manual it does state that a problem code could be caused by spinning the rear wheel without the front moving. It says for longer that 30sec though... that burnout must have been a real tire melter.

Well I figured since it needed new skins anyway, I'd have a little fun, figures. Haven't had it out yet because off hellacious amounts of salt on the roads here, hopefully this weekend. Thanx for all your help, that's what I love about this site.
