So, as this issue has been posted a crap-ton of times, I searched the archives for around five hours. No one with a 6th gen seems to be having the same issues all at the same time. Here we go. I walked out to my bike this afternoon, with a warm 90 degree day. Bike starts great. Warms up. Away I go, homebound. As I'm riding, I look down and the ABS light is blinking rapidly. I have seen this light do something similar after I did a nasty burnout on an old tire. "strange" I think to myself. SO, like an idiot, I turn off bike at the next red light. FML Bike does not want to start, just clicks, dash does dead. I am pissed as I have a brand new gel-core battery ( one day old, properly precharged). Luckily, I am able to run start the bike down the hill, and it fires right up. ABS light, still blinking. Bike starts idling like crap. Have to keep idle at 2k to prevent it from dying. Bike runs like garbage all the way home. Every time fan starts, which is pretty much non-stop, engine shudders, more throttle. Get home, shut off. No start. Voltage for battery reads ok (12.4) when not running. Need to test with running, but bike will not start. Jump start coming. Just hoping to get some ideas while I am outside fiddling...
In "Block 2" of the sketch in the enclosed link check the connector into which "fuse 12" is placed and the connector on the short lead of smaller guage wire. If burnt this may be the problem. When repairing replace the short wire with 12 ga. Hope this helps you find the problem. ... 2002 Honda VFR800A INTERCEPTOR ABS Parts, 2002 Honda VFR800A INTERCEPTOR ABS OEM Parts - BikeBandit.com
