Just replaced the chain & sprockets on my '04, and overall went quite smoothly(especially with this thread for encouragement).

One piece of 'just in case you're wondering', and one thing that might help others:
The 'just in case' is that yes, you do have to pull the bolts that hold the clutch slave cylinder to the drive sprocket cover; you do NOT have to remove the slave from it; when you pull the bolts that hold the cover, the whole thing will come off as a unit.

The 'might be of help' is something son told me about for keeping the wheel/chain/sprockets from turning while loosening and reinstalling the bolt and nuts: cargo strap.
Run the strap through the wheel, hook each hook to the frame somewhere and pull it snug(around a spoke in front to loosen/in back for tightening). It'll give a little, but it won't let things turn while you break the bolt/nuts loose, and while you're torquing them down.
