This is in no way VFR rated, other than that I was riding mine when I got detoured around the scene yesterday morning. I figured it was a leaking hydrant, or somebody lost control over the railroad tracks near the house, didn't watch the news last night, and didn't really think about it again. I got to my computer today and got this email from my son's football league: Tragic. Apparently the 4 y/o was playing with matches and dropped one onto some clothes, the oldest brother threw the younger ones out the window before he bailed out, and a Medina cop risked his own life going into the house after Tashawn, but it was too late. Haven't talked to my son yet to see if he knew him; based on location, I 'think' he went to his school, different grade though. My two thoughts: - remember that we're all human, and should consider how we interact with each other. - thank your local LEOs next time you meet one, regardless of the circumstances. These guys are willing to go into burning buildings, without gear, to get you or your kids out.
Very sad, but a good reminder of how vulnerable we can be. I know riding is risky but I tend to not think about it much, even while hitting the twisties hard. Tell your kids/spouse/SO everyday that you love them. Not that they don't know but never let there be a doubt, just in case.
