    Hey everyone!

Very happy to be here, as I'm a brand new owner of my very own 2000 VFR800! I've owned an '04 Ninja 250 through college and after, and a 1974 Norton 850 roadster that I've taken on quite a few cross country trips over the years. I'm 27, have been riding about a decade now, and FINALLY feel like I've gotten a bike I can grow into and hold onto for years to come. I bought the bike last night and couldn't sleep at all, it was like Christmas eve! It has 14k miles, the paint is not original but is in good condition except for the unsightly dent in the tank (that really isn't a big deal to me, I can fix that later), was well taken care of by the two previous owners, and now will be pampered by its third :)

Anyway, I don't have too many pals in the motorcycling world at the moment, so I'm really excited to be a part of the community and hopefully meet some cool folks and trade some stories. Looking forward to meeting y'all!

    Peter

Lazarus21 - you got yourself one of the finest motorcycles ever made. Take care of her and she will last a lifetime. At 14K miles, she isn't even broken in yet. While I find the 5th gen to be one of the best bikes out there, there is always room for improvement. You are going to be tempted to get a bunch of cool stuff at first, but from experience here is where you should spend your money next:

1 - If it hasn't been done yet, upgrade that charging system. Tons of info here on it. Look for mello dudes The Drill on here. I'm not a fan of the VFRness, I'd rather fix the problem than have a workaround, but to each their own.
2 - Suspension! Get with Jamie Daugherty and spend <$700 to get a suspension that will knock your socks off.

I'm betting 90% of the people would agree with these two being the most important right out the gate. After that, everything else is up to you! Welcome to the VFR club, you're never going to want to leave!
