well, i just got back from a ride this afternoon. as you may be aware its winter here in the southern hemispere and one must take the oppurtunities as they appear to ride in the winter.

we had a beautiful,if not brisk, blue sky day here today.

    here are some stats.

    ambient air temp-14C ( 57.2F )

bike running temp-steady at 75C (167F) roughly 20 degrees down on summer operating temp.

im not sure if your NA bikes read their temp in C or F?
we are celcius for all temp readings generally in NZ.

it was cool with a bit of wind chill out on the road, but nothing that proper riding gear couldnt cope with.

took a few pics down at the beach to comemerate a run in the sun on a brsk winters day...hope we get more

Hi R/T; Nice story, Yes I am more fond of winter, just seems like I have more energy
and on sunny days I get the feeling of bright ,sunny and brisk. But being a bike rider,
we need the warmer weather. And another thing these small displacment motors really
love the cold, they make alot more power. In younger days I would often ride when it
was flurrying, now that would cause to many bone aches. Ride safe, your pictures were very good. eddie

we got down to 2 degrees C overnite here, with a hard frost in the morning.
but it quickly thawed once the sun poked its head over the horizon.

more of the same today, so i guess another ride is in order...

thanks eddie. i agree the old engine seems to thrive on cooler dense air, as for me...less so.
i count my self lucky as the winters here are more of an inconvenience to riding than say in parts of the US, where you have to park the bike for the winter.
