ok all i have a 99 vfr with a power commander2 serial cable version... i dont have a computer with a serial port what are my options here.. and does anyone have any maps for these.. im kinda new to these so any help or info you all could give me with this thing ...im running a k&n air filter and wolf undertail exhaust....
There are California specific maps you'll need for that bike. You'll have to look in to a serial-USB adapter, and see if it will work. I have a 10 year old XP laptop that I keep around basically just for the serial port. Or dump the PC2 and get a PC3. well i picked up a serial to usb cable today from radioshack for 40$ .. i have all the california maps and the software on my laptop.. i was going to mess with it a little tonight but my laptop battery was acting up.had a leak on roof at office and i think it fried my battery ... i have a few maps id like to try and id also like to look at the current one to try and compare... im still looking online for instructions on how to actually use the software as far as hooking up running checking map on bike and loading new map on bike.. havent really came up with anything good yet...
