Hey folks yesterday morning I hit some black ice and went down. Luckily I was just a couple blocks from my house and I'm mostly OK. However my bike is not. There are a few bent levers and a broken mirror and the fairings are already off. The worst though is that it won't turn over. I can hear the starter trying but I think the engine might be seized. Is it common for this to happen to vfrs when they go down? It was running for maybe five seconds on its side before it shut off. Please helpe save my bike!!!!!!!

Pull the spark plugs and give it a quick try. Is it truly in neutral? Maybe try putting in high gear and rock rear wheel by hand (with plugs out).

    Glad you are OK.

like Allyance thinking, is the starter trying? as in engaged? or is it just a click? Yep pull a couple or all the plugs also look at the clutch switch and the side side stand switch as well, I wouldn't think it's fluid locked.

Thanks again folks. I pulled the back two plugs last night and she turned over. After reasembly she started right up and blew a bunch of smoke out for a minute then purred like a kitten.
    Ride safe!!
