Hello All, I've got a gas leak on my 94 vfr and I suspect bad float needles/bowl gaskets. I've removed the carbs and inspected the float needles and gaskets and they look a bit worn. My question is: should I replace any other carb parts/seals while I have it apart? Any other cleaning and reassembly tips would be much appreciated. P.s. I'm looking at this kit to replace the seals and needles: Honda VFR750 F VFR750F Econo Carb Kit Set 1994 1997 | eBay Thanks, Danny
Needles and seats ought to fix it for you. Could change out the Mixture screw o-rings while you're in there--it takes a special D-shaped screwdriver on the US yankee version. Make sure pilot jets and choke jet and main jet are not clogged. Did you check oil and inspect for fuel in cylinder and washdown into crankcase? Don't want no hydrolock damage...
Might be good to replace the float bowl O-rings just as a precaution. Don't forget that with new float needles and seats, you'll need to check/adjust float levels. if you have needle leaks, they are obvious looking down the carb throats with the air filter removed; fuel crossover tube O-ring leaks appear below the assembly.
