86 vfr750 resto mod

Hi all....I need a complete bike for a project I have been simmering on for a few years now. I am ready to pull the trigger on it finally. I have a ad in the wanted section and thought I would post up here also. I need a 1986 vfr700/750. I have cash in hand for the project and will more then likely need some mech advise along the way. I hope this site can help cause I was close to scrapping the bike but just cant bring myself to do it for some unknown reason. I dont care about the motor in the bike nor do I care if it is still in bike. I also dont care if the body panels need full restoration, I do however need all. Thanks...

Wher are you located and what is your plan for said bike?

 

Fixing it up (making 1 great out of 2) and giving it to my sister. She is having a hard time in Cali and needs a bike that has no payment...

Im in Nashville, TN ........ she is in San Jose/ Santa Clara area. She rides an F4i, red/white......

 

If she has an f4i then why does she need the vfr?

If you must know details dannyhoo then here goes...She is making payments to a boyfreind person who she moved out there with. Well now he has told her to get lost and he is moving in with his sister...and she still owes him 1300 on bike (her only transportation) . Dont know what the final outcome will be and there is no way i will get viffer done in time but thought I would be a brother and try and get her something by christmas or her birthday in Jan next year. Yea, I know I could just give her the 1300 but where is the fun in that. I will probably have to give her that money to get a place to stay..I enjoy playing with motorcycles and have always wanted to build the viffer just never got much help and it has been in my garage for 3 years. I am a Kawi guy and dont know much about the hondas. More info then I like to give but to those who want to know......

I know that there are a few salvage yards in cali. I have been to the one in Ventura called tri county. It is a huge warehouse and I think they can ship you anything u want I know they had a vf1000 bike there that I was wanting to get but I'm not sure of the 700/750. How about I trade you my vf500 for the f4i hehehe just kidding but if I find a 700/750 I'll let you know

Well I have made the deal on the bike and it is accepted. I just bought an 86 VFR750.... Will pick up in a week of so...

Is your sister wanting to sell the f4i

 

Dude...If you only knew the drama there.....There is no way I would pay as much for it as she/boyfreind wants. He wants to much money for it and my sis wants to use the money for other shit then paying him off...LOTS of drama.

I am redirecting my plan and redoing the new bike for me... She can have her wrecked one back and ride mine when she comes to visit....

 

I will post up some pics tonight of some other resto-mods I have done......Im excited abouit doing a vfr finally.

That's funny, well anyways hope the resto comes out the way u plan good luck. Yeah tonight I'll be working on mine. I got my new exhaust in so now I'll have to see how I'm going to be able to fit it underneath the seat and then fab up a new extended swingarm, so hopefully it goes the way I plan.
