86 vfr 750 exhaust leaks,clamps in center of bike????

    is exhaust supposed to come out of those clamps its coming out of all of them.

    no...they can be tightened pretty tight though. my clamps overlap a little at the tips, maybe 1/16" or so

    what is the easiest/best way 2 fix them and is it ok to gut my mufflers or will it make the bike slower

    mine leak from there. the slip on part of the convertor broke off. kinda gives a mean growl although i'd like to fix if anyone has an idea.

    Best way to fix is take it off and clean the rust and old gasket out and install new gaskets and retighten the clamps.

    Don't know about the mufflers, mine have 60k on them and still work fine without all the noise, unless full throttle and 7k+ rpm!
