Hello everyone, I just recently purchased a very clean low mile VFR 700 for under $500.00 only has 4300 original miles and appears to have been well maintained its whole life. The previous owner had the carbs off and was unable to reinstall the linkage springs correctly. I have a Haynes manual for the bike but it does not adequately cover this area. Is the "official" Honda service manual any better? Anyone have a spare they might want to sell? If so or any insight would be helpful - email wkigh@htcplus.net THANKS Bill
Hi Bill. Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the group. The official Honda manual will probably have better diagrams than the Haynes. You can get an official service manual thru Helm Inc
Hey Bill, I just purchased an 84 VF 500. I posted pics of the 'before' phase in the user photo section. I'll be trying to document the cleanup and repair for the how-to section in here. I'm also looking for a repair manual. I found the honda service manual on ebay, and I also saw the clymer and haynes. I'll buy at least two in case I don't get the diagram on one, the other may be more clear.
VFR 700 Burnout A white VFR 700 is the first bike that I ever vaporized a rear tire on! It holds a special place in my coal black heart:tongue: !
Hi Reg; I have taken Vmans suggestion and gotten a factory manual from Helm. The Haynes manual is good just missing the one section I was especially looking for. Bill
well, I need to take the same suggestion because someone outbid me on ebay! doggone it. It happens every time now it seems like. I have been trying for boots and leathers for 2 months now!
