but then I put the bike in 2nd gear and rock the engine and its free again..no problems after I do that till next day on a cold engine..bike had 14 k on it runs excellent..just acts like it locks up..or something is keeping the starter from turning over the engine..something in the starting gear mechanisim? thanks Gregg in ohio
Prob want to take your right crankcase cover off and inspect the starter clutch housing (that has the one-way rollers in it). The housings have been known to crack in some cases causing symptoms you describe.
ok on the starter housing...it only does it when the ambient temp is below 50 deg today it was 65 in the shop and it turned over just fine..i can remember taking one apart once but don't know what vfr it was,,ive have many..Gregg in ohio
