hi i just got a 700 with a bad spark unit, the board is scorched around a transistor chip i think has d1071 printed on it, my question is can a replacement chip be soldered in to rebuild this or am i better off just buying a replacement, if replacement is the way to go does anyone have one sitting on a shelf they'd part with? i need the one with the white plug not the red one.

or is there a newer model bike that these can be swapped from?
    Thanks,
    Matt

Do you have a 700F or a 700F2? I believe the CDI boxes are different. The 700F model is the same as the 750F's You can find them on E-bay really cheap sometimes.
