So i like to think of myself as pretty mechanically inclined. Done all my own repairs on everything i owned.. I just did the valves on my interceptor. Checked the valve lash like 5 times to make sure it was right. everything looked good. put it all back together.. Ran like a champ.. tears in my eyes to how good it sounded. let run for another 5 mins to warm up for a test ride. with the choke full on the idle started to drop. then die.. would kinda run. but only with choke on. i used .006 feeler gauge as the book called for. im at a loss.. i need my bike back as it is my only transportation. oh i also checked the spark and its all good.
let me know your ideas.. thanks

If it will only run with the choke on, the fuel mixture is too lean without the choke.

Usually it's the carb boots causing problems. You can try turning the pilot screws out 1 turn. But the bike should run fine with them at stock settings.

never use ANY choke if the bike will run without it........ and if it won't you need a carb cleaning.

IT's easy to flood the sparkplugs with excess fuel by using choke when not necessary.
