    Hi All,

Thanks to all the help I've gotten from forum my VF500 F carbs are fully cleaned, reassembled and almost ready to put back on. I will bench test for leaks soon. However, I do see that while my idle enrichment screws are in very good shape, they are missing the washer and O ring near the tip shown in the FSM. The previous owner said it idled and ran fine, but I'm thinking they probably should be replaced.
So, do I really need them for a rough and ready "get it on the road" project bike and if so where can I get them? Also if they are not readily available, can they be cobbled up with readily available O rings and washers as opposed to Honda parts?
    Thanks!

    Jay

Sometimes they get stuck down in the bottom of the hole and you have to fish them out with a bent wire hook--it can look empty if the washer is covering the oring. Probably won't run well without the orings.

But i bought a big pack of 3 x 1mm Buna orings on ebay that seem to work fine, not sure what the actual OEM size is or if there exists for example a 2.95 x 0.95 Send me your address and i can mail you a set. i don't think i have any of the 3 x1 washers, but they should be readily available at any RC/hobby or hardware/fastener store.

Going far out on a limb like a squirrel............i think bike will idle fine without O-ring and washer , but both are needed to help compress screw spring or it can vibrate loose. :topsy_turvy::redface: Try a big gob of silicone seal over the idle screw holes to stop any possible air leaks the O-ring might prevent.

I'm going to run this experiment sometime this summer.
