Hey guys I am new to the site here but I have recently purchased a 1986 Honda Interceptor VF500f.
The exhaust has a dent in the left muffler so I have been looking around at some replacements. I recently found a set of yoshimura pipes along with a front and rear wheel and tire with good tread and all brake rotors for an 85 VF500. The owner wants $175 for everything. I need a new rear tire and front rotors also so this would solve that problem too. My questions are:
Would the wheels/tires/rotors fit on the 86 model? (I know the sprockets are different sizes between the two years).
Is this a good price for the lot?

    Thanks!!!
-pics are attatched of parts and my new bike!!!

Does anyone have any opinions on the yoshimura exhaust? If so are they worth the money?

They are ok, but don't expect any more power from them (probably less in fact). They look good and sound good and seem to hold up really well to the test of time.

That Yoshi exhaust would be worth the $175 even without the wheels/tires/etc. Well maybe not "worth" 175, but based on what I've seen on ebay/etc while looking for aftermarket pipes over the last year, that's what they are going for (more actually....)

Thanks guys!!!! I like the older wheels with the silver lip anyways so I believe I am going to go for it!! At the least I can keep the wheels/tires/rotors and sell the exhaust!
    Thanks for all your help!

Hello 86', and welcome to the group! If the Yoshimura slip-ons don't work out I would bet that you will be able to sell the pair on eBay and recoup a bit of the purchase price for the lot. On a side note - aftermarket slip-ons require re-jetting to get back up to stock horsepower. While I wouldn't consider this a deal breaker it is something to consider when making the switch.

Ok thanks, what size jets would I need to go up to for the slip ons and do yall have any reputable places to get them? or should I just do the regular ebay/google search.
Also how hard is it to rejet these bikes? I have owned several single cylinders before and rejetted all of them, but having four carbs and syncing them all seems like it could be difficult!
If the rejetting is something I cannot do at home, I will probably just sell the aftermarket pipes and keep looking for a left stock pipe that is in good shape.

    Thanks!
