    Hello All.

Just wanted to report in on my amateur restoration of this 86 VFR700. Original thread here: http://vfrworld.com/forums/1st-2nd-generation-1983-1989/32268-great-find-86-vfr700.html

Since restoring this bike last fall I have been from Middle TN to Deals gap (a week of riding) and back, and very recently I finished a 600 mile trip. I have less than $1,000 invested, about 400 of which went to tires and a new seat!

The bike runs pretty solid. Not a speed machine necessarily, but never a hiccup. Images of the Energizer Bunny come to mind...

A group I have been riding with in Nashville was going up to Burkesville, KY this weekend for a closed road ride. Seemed like a good opportunity to ride some with them and sneak up to Lexington to catch up with family while I was at it. Here's some pics:tongue:

On my way back down south I stopped at Camp Nelson Natl. Cemetary as well as a few other scenic spots. The damn dam is on hwy 127 in southern KY

A few random notes about Sunday's ride:

Number of motorcycles seen : 85
    bikes sitting : 8
    Roadkills? : 4
Squids? : 5 (+1 girlfriend, short shorts! GASP)
    Bikes being trailered: 1

Number 13 had his girl on a back in a bikini. Daddy likey.

Number 23 was on a highway doing 70+ mph with no helmet, just sunglasses:cool:

Number 68 was a big Kawi (1400?) I think. All chromed and stretched an whatnot

    Number 80? Dooo Ka Teeeee

How'd I keep all that straight? No clue. Oh and those kids are the cousins!

Just sayin I'm proud of this Honda that's nearly as old as I am

And oh yeah the total mileage? Unknown. The only mileage I know is that the bike has 3,200 miles on it since I got it running again.

Nice job. It looks like your bike has a split personality. The left lower and front fender look like they're from the VFR700 (Pearl White), while the right lower is from the 700/750 RWB model. It took me a few seconds to realize it was the same bike. These are great bikes and very reliable. My '86 750 was my full time ride until I got my '07. If it wasn't for that, I'd have no concerns still running it as a primary bike.

It looks like the Nashville Sportbike Meetup. I ride with them. Top picture on the right I see about 5 people I know. The BMW S1000RR is Donnie's.
