I have an '86 VFR and I purchased some '87 handlebars to replace the left clutch handle, both reservoirs, clutch indicator switch, and right brake cylinder. I installed them both and as I was going to plug in the wire bundle from the left handlebar I found it didn't fit. However, I put the old one back on since there was really nothing wrong with it. The right side now has the controls from the '87. I think it might even have been a 750, whereas I have a 700.

Now my dash lights and tail lights do not work. Has anyone used the controls from an '87 on an '86?

86 F1 control wiring is unique .The right side is just length and not a big problem but the left is a sub harness all on its own. not a good way around it.
