I really miss the pegs on my old '86. I wish I would have tried switching them before I basically gave it away. At least I'd know they would fit. It looks to me like they should fit OK.

Does anyone know for sure? Are there any other Honda bikes that shared this peg? I've looked on eBay and the pegs never come up for sale when I'm looking.

I really hate the rubber-blubber pegs. I ride aggressively and I'm wearing the pegs to the point that they look like crap in a couple thousand miles. Honda wants a crapload for them and the cheapest place I've found them online is bikebandit.com at about $8 with the AMA discount. Even new, they look like crap to me. The '98 is a smoother bike than the '86 was and I was happy with the pegs on the older bike. I never felt they were buzzy or slippery when wet. In fact, I think the rubber ones are slipperier than the old serrated aluminum ones.

    Any thoughts?

veefer800canuck over on vfrdiscussion.com has '86 footpegs on his '98. If I remember correctly they went on without any trouble.
