    Hello,
I have a 86 750 VFR that does not over heat street riding but when I take her out to a track day, she overheats

What steps do you recommend. Or if you know why she only over heats when pushing her on the track, let me know.

I do think the Rad Cap may not seal as good as it should, she was dumped a few times on the right side

I took my 86 700 out on the track and had to problem at all.

But the 750 does not like the track :frown:
She does love the street though! no probs, even when I'm push her.

    Thanks
    John

    cap

I the radiator cap does not fit well to the neck they will heat up. Back in the day when we crashed our bikes on a daily basis the neck on the radiator would get damaged (bent down on the outside edge) and we would do what we could to bend them back to seal but they never worked well when in 100 plus temp or when treated like a two dollar hooker (rode very hard) .:stripper: It does not take much to cause this problem and we fought it back then due to lack of funds but a good radiator fixed it every time.I have seen many of these seize due to overheating and cool off and run again. Over and over again.. We were dumb ass kids.

a sealed radiator cap is where I would start, the system must hold pressure
then "burp the system to ensure no air bubbles/pockets
fresh radiator fluid or water wetter
    then test the thermostat
    then the water pump

most likely the cap is either not sealing, or not on all the way, would be the first place I checked
