Hey everyone. I've been looking into improving my exhaust on my 700 and I know that brand new options are very limited. And I think all of them are 4-1, how boring... I'm sticking with the dual exhaust and I want aftermarket cans. The cans I've got are about 90% but they aren't perfect. I've read a write up about making the stock cans louder by taking them apart and cutting out the center tube on the end cap. That looked very easy but the end caps are spot welded on so it could get ugly to get rid of all the weld. I've been researching different bike's exhaust to see if something could work and I like what I see when I look at a Suzuki TL1000. Dual cans, similiar mounting points and the bends look workable. I lost a set of Carbon Yosh slipons on ebay and I just about shot myself. They sell new for $850+ and they went for $250...... I've got a line on another set of carbon slip ons and hopefully that will pan out. I am going to make this happen as soon as I can get my hands on a set for cheap. I've got a TiG welder and some pipe, I can make it happen. What other options have people found? Here is a TL1000S, the R is very similiar but a little straighter off the cans. -Tim
I custom fit stock VTR1000 cans the same could be done with aftermarket cans here is a link. http://vfrworld.com/forums/first-se...-mounted-vtr1000-pipes-my-vfr-pics-video.html Sense you have a tig welder I bet you would have no problem.
