just got the carbs off/on the bike. they cleaned up well, only half of the jets were clogged. the gas from the tank looked like carrot juice with all the rust floating around, and the float bowls looked like someone spray-painted them red. everything went back together nicely thanks to all the help on this site. changed the oil, coolant( was almost black), plugs(one was rusted in the cylinder head), fresh brake pads all around, flushed the brake fluid out of the master cylinders and bled the brakes, new chain, new grips, rust out of the tank and fresh gas in, charged the battery and shes ready to fire. turn the key and after a few long cranks she fires up. smokes a bit. the smoke from the pipes I can attribute to the fresh gas mixing with what was left of the product I used to de-rust it, but the smoke from the base of the rear cylinder was a mystery. she warmed up and held an idle, but bogs a little when you give her gas. after a slight off idle stumble she roars. so I guess I now have to sync them. I read about bench tuning, can anyone elaborate.

    thanx for all the help
