spent most of the weekend working the spare plastics from an 84 that were in ratty shape. still working the front fairing. should have that done next weekend.

have completed the rear cowl and the side panels. reshot the red on the front fairing that was original. it was in such crappy shape that the rattle can job actually made it look better.

    list of materials:

    400, 800, and 1000 grit.

    duplicolor "linen white"
    duplicolor "metal specks retro red"
    duplicolor "metal specks ocean blue"
    duplicolor "clear coat"

the red is really damn close. the blue is a little lighter, but looks good.

pretty much it for the moment. next weekend will be finishing up the other front fairing and working the gas tank.

Looks real good. I wish I could still have the stock job. Mine was painted a titanium grey, so I wouldn't even know where to begin if I were to repaint it.

if you know anyone that has a parts bike with the plastics, or, get some crappy plastic, you can then line up the stripes on the side panels and the rear cowl. you'd probably have to eyeball the tank and the front fairing. you could also try to make a template with some thin paper, which is the route i think i may have to take with the spare front fairing and tank i have.

will be finishing up the tank in the picture this morning.

Blue looks a bit light or is it just me?

yeah, the blue is a little lighter than the original, but does look better in person. will have to take some better picks with a better camera.
