Got to work and my clutch gave out, checked the master and was out of fluid, found the leak in the sight glass and replaced it, bled the old fluid out and replaced with dot 4 honda brake fluid, bled the lines and end up with a rock hard clutch lever. Note the ability to change gears without the clutch as well.

Could the hard lever be a sign there's still air in the lines?

Does the clutch function normally and the lever is hard, or is the clutch not functioning at all? A better description of it's current state might get you some better assistance.

When bleeding I get the right amount of pressure but as soon as I close the bleed valve on the slave the lever gets too much pressure and is hard

Make sure any rubber portion of the hose didn't get pinched in between something when you were working on it. Also make sure that any metal portion didn't get damaged or crimped.

After that, remove the slave cylinder from the counter shaft cover and inspect for anything obvious. While it is off, SLIGHTLY pull the clutch lever and see if the slave cylinder wants to move.

fluid not returning to the clutch master was my initial thought, but there wasn't enough info provided.

That is the sight glass that was replaced on the master cyclinder that caused the loss of fluid in the first place

I'm unsure, I attached a photo looks a bit off too me, it moves out when I squeeze the lever.
