84 1000F water pump help!

I recently had my water pump fail on my 84 1000 interceptor and they seem to be hard to find. on top of that ive read that they tend to go bad quite frequently. is there another bike with a similar water pump that will work? any reply appreciated!

 

Bearing fail or did the impeller come loose?

How did it fail? Leaking? That can be fixed.

 

It was leaking out of the weep, or "tell tale" hole on the bottom

 

Contact some salvage yards.



If Grey (one of our finest members) thinks that pump is rebuildABLE, please tell where to get the bearings and seals and how to get it apart.

 

There's guy on http://v4hondabbs.com that was rebuilding them. I'll look for the info. The oil seals can be replaced easy.
