Wanted 8 spoke rear wheel and '94-97 fuel tank

Like everyone else I am looking for an 8-spoke rear wheel for my '94 project.

I am also looking for an undented (maybe a small dent is ok) fuel tank to replace my '94 crushed tank. Paint does not have to be good, it is going to get repainted most likely. I believe 94-97 use the same tank.

They have (potentially) gone up within the last year. Without getting "lucky" they are $400 all-day-long. Some nice ones have gone for $700 now. Look everyday and be ready to pounce for the deal. Shit, I bought a 1990 VFR for $400 just cuz it had the wheel and I knew I wasn't gonna lose. Did not lose on that deal, got WAY more than I thought possible in the end. Have a friend who bought a whole VFR for the same reason.

Yes, 94 - 97. I will keep an eye out for a decent starting point.

 

How dented is that tank? I had one I used a cheap Chinese (replica of the ones you can get here for $$) paintless dent repair kit. Comes with several different size and shape buttons that you glue onto the tank with hot melt, let cool, then work the dent out.... start at the outer rim of the dent and work your way to the center. The buttons will pop off at some point, and you just keep rinsing and repeating. I got 3 baseball size dents out in about 4 hours taking my time. There are videos showing what the pros do with these kits.

 

Full disclosure: I have the same kit and it works remarkably better than you expect... to a point. Seriously impressed a buddy with his Hawk GT tank.

better off buying a whole bike with the 8spoker.

 

The Summer Blonde 91 is not ridiculous, but time is on your side. Sometimes they slip thru and you get lucky. I got one last year for $175. Totally straight but of course had the worst black paint job ever.

Wheels are in good shape with the rear having about a dime sized area where paint bubbled. I guess I’m looking for 500 US plus shipping for the pair. Front has the rotors attached.
