Hi, Just recently bought a 2004 VFR800 and absolutely love it! I've ridden pretty much every make and model bike over the past 26 years, and I have to say, I'm very much impressed with the VFR. Smooth as silk! I do have a question/concern about how the valves operate. I know that all 4 valves are supposed to kick in at around 6,500 RPMs. Mine certainly does that, however, only after the bike has been ridden a couple of miles and properly warmed up. That is, the V-Tec does not kick in if the bike is not warmed up. I might be imagining things, but I've experienced this every time I first start up the bike....no V-Tec at 7,000 - 8,000 RPMs for the first couple of miles. Wondering if anyone else has noticed this issue. My VFR is a 2004 and has approximately 2,000 miles on it. The original owner only put 900 miles on the bike since buying it as a new old stock in 2006. The bike looks and drives brand new! Thanks and would really appreciate your feedback! Tuareg

The V-tec does not kick in until the engine comes 154 degrees.
