No, this isn't a dumb question. I know the connectors are the same as the 5th gen's. I know I'd need to use a 6th gen airbox since the top of the throttle bodies are different. The main part of this question is are the throttle bodies angled the same as 5th gen's and will align with the insulators?

Put in a best offer for the throttlebodies, air box, and fuel pump (new pump, why not). All 3 for $114.

The conversion is going swell. Just needing to find some simple video editing software so I can cut down some vids. I like to upload them in a time line order.

Got the throttlebodies mounted on. Got the main plug extended and the flapper valve solenoid connection. Also got the hot idle wax unit coolant lines situated.

Every thing is hooked up. I was having troubles with the pump not priming. It helps if you plug in the injector harness. *DOH*

I didnt have enough gas in the tank for the engine to fully crank over but it wanted to start. I'll have it running tomorrow. Still have to miss with mounting the rear coils. Theyre touching the bottom of the tank where I mounted them.

Sorry for not having any vids up. Still having to edit them. Work has been keeping me late, doing plumbing at home, passing out for an hour or so, and not falling asleep till 1 am or later.

Interesting... Once I bought my VFR I wondered if you could swap the throttle bodies, just never got the ambition. Hope everything works okay! Very interested in the outcome.

well you don't have the choke anymore... a wax unit controls the idle on warm up. I believe everything else is the same.

'98-99 where the only 800's with the starter valve lever.

I didn't do this for any benefits, but if there is some then good.

    I did this because:

    1. To see if it could be done

    2. Only 4 years of 5th gens so used parts will eventually die out

    3. Too see how bike reacts to them

    4. Just because I felt like it.

Does it make any difference to mileage. Thought the 6 gen injectors were the 12 hole units not 4 hole like the 5th gen? different fuel pressure too?

Could try the coil on plug off a 6 gen to fix the coil clearance issue, btw.

This '07 assembly has 12 port injectors. I Cant speak for all 6th gens. 5th gen injectors are single port.

On mileage I have no clue. I just got everything together. Plus I don’t care about mileage really.

What I need to find out is the flow rates on both. I'll send off my 5th gens injectors to be cleaned and have them flow rate them. A guy over on vfrd had his '02 injectors cleaned and flow rated. I'll have to see the results and how many ports his injectors have.

I am thinking of the coil on spark system. 1. I need the height and diamter measurements on them. 2. Id have to figure a way to bolt them down. Be it tapping the valve covers or modifying 6th gen valve covers. 3. If the shapes on the 5th gen covers will even allow the coil on plugs will be able to sit down all the way.
