    Hey guys,
I spent 4 hours yesterday (raining) putting on Remus CF cans, PCIII, O2 Elims, and K&N filter and got a chance to do the test today on a quick 85 mile jaunt.

For starters, the install was very straight-forward. The only issues with the Remus cans was getting them to line up evenly at the rear of the bike. Everything else is a snap once you get all of the plastic off and then prop up the tank.

First....the sound. The Remus CF sound great, much more like my old 1st gen with 'supertrapps'. The idle sounds much deeper and then more Ducati like as the RPM's increase. I was actually surprised that they weren't louder, but I really don't want them to be too obnoxious.

Second....Performance. I ordered the PCIII with a factory map with 'staintunes and K&N'. (They don't have one for Remus pipes) Performance is much improved. What surprised me the most is the lower end torque now pulling from around 3500 RPM. Pre-PCIII at that RPM, the engine really seemed to be sluggish. Now, even in a higher gear roll on, the bike will pull much harder with a mid-throttle twist. Prior to installing this equipment, there was a noticeable lull in power at the 6000 RPM level, until when the VTEC kicked in. Now it is a very smooth transition and all you really notice is the 'sound' increase when the two other valves per cylinder kick in. (Interesting side note: My 2006 seems to kick in at the original RPM of 6800, not the 6400 that was supposed to be on the 2006 models. Both before and after PCIII. What's up with that?)

Third....The Victim. My new 2006 White VFR. Just purchased new from a dealer where it had been sitting in the showroom for 2 years. (I got a good deal!) Two weeks ago it had it's first 600 mile checkup, so the engine is in good shape to test the modifications out. Next up is a fender eliminator (to get rid of the ugly wart on the back of the bike) and probably a set of Heli-bars.

Just my 2-cents worth, and if anyone has any questions about the mods or installs, feel free to contact me.

    Take care and ride safely,
    GeorgiaRider

Finally, here are a couple of pics with the Remus and Fender eliminator on the bike.

Looks good. And the report sounds positve!
May I ask what is the price range for these "mods"?
Have you compared fuel consumption? Is it an issue? Will you "track" this bike or is it for street use?

    Awesome Mods!

    Fantastic Job!!!

How much were the Remus cans? So far every CF exhaust I've heard has definately sounded better at idle than Ti or AL and even sweeter at speed.

yep, that setup looks hot. im still lookin around for what pipe combo i want to put on, so thanks for the heads up...it helps alot!

my only question, are both cans 'active' ? ive seen at least one system where the second can is a dummy? (seems a waste)

    the carbon looks good!

also, how about posting a pic of that 1977 Kawasaki Z1000?

    Noz,
I've got other bikes for my girlfriend to tag along on! This one is for me to have fun on!

I'll try to upload some pics of the other bikes in the garage soon. (KZ-1000, Spirit 750, Kaw Mean Streak 1500, plus 2 antique Honda 1972 CL-175 scramblers - 1 with 750 mi) (motocross bikes don't count)

Some of the other questions referred to in responses to my post:
-Yes, both CF Remus cans are active (no stash here!) They sound great at all RPM's.
    - Yes, it a Competition Werkes fender elim. ~$62.00
    - Full setup price (cans, PCIII, O2 elims, K&N) ~$1200.00
-This is my 'fun bike'. Right now, street&Twisties...hopefully later, track days. I still need sliders and bar ends before I want to do the track. Plus, better sticky tires will be in order. I've got about an 1/8" chicken strip on the edges now, that's eroding quickly. Man, you can lean the crap out of these bikes!

I think that was all the questions that were asked.
If you have any more, feel free to PM me.

Oh, one other question I neglected to answer!
    Fuel consumption.....
WHO CARES! (It's waaaaay better than my Tahoe Z-71!)
I'll take the 36-42mpg on this anyday of the week!

Get rid of that Dunslop, and you will really be happy with what you have done.

The way you have the cans oriented looks pretty hot--was it hard to get them positioned like that?

It wasn't hard to orient the cans, it just takes a while. With the Remus, you have 2 bands that you have to bend into place to fit around the 'oval' shape of the slip-ons. Take your time, and leave everything loose, as you work on getting the correct positioning. Then start tightening everything, a little at a time, checking postions as you go.

Three reasons mine are positioned at that angle.
1-Gives more clearance to the fender elim, keeping the CF from getting cut or scratched.
2-Fills the gap of the tail piece a little better, leaving less 'empty space' showing.
    3-I thought it looks "HOT"

Nice Set-up! How's the map working?

I have been experimenting with PCIII Maps on my 04 VFR. How is your's working out? I have not disabled the PAIR valve, but I have catless headers and O2 eliminators with the REMUS.

Do you notice any seat of the pants improvements?

    Thanks!

I have basically the same set up, and I found that if you just download some of the different maps power commander has on thier site that you will find one that you will be happy with. I myself seemed to like the map for European models with the Devil cans & aftermarket filter. I thought the one that says "open exhaust" would be the best seems how I did the headers which eliminates the cat, would be the best but turns out that one didn't feel good on the test run, so out it went. I also noticed that the Euro maps do changes to the fuel delivery every 250 RPM's, and the American ones only go every 500 RPM's. Don't know why, but I'ld rather cover more throttle range as possible. I know the best is to just have the bike dynoed, but some of us don't have the funds for such a thing, especially after buying all the mods!
