This is my first official post. I simply wanted to pass on a great deal I found after searching for over a year for stock saddlebags for my '02 VFR800. David Silver Spares in the UK is selling stock panniers/ saddlebags for the 02-08 VFR but I believe it is red in color only. (R-157 in color, found under your seat). Cost is 249GBP or $306 us + shipping (roughly $150 to Northern Cali). For $450 it's the best your going to find. Ordered mine a few days ago and will post pictures once received.

David Silver Spares - Honda VFR8002 VTEC 2002 Accessory pannier set in Red, Colour code R-157

NOTE: I do not receive any compensation from this web site, simply passing on a good deal.

Damn it. I paid $430 for an used set of Saddle bags. Cost me some more for shipping and a little more for repaint. Let's say $520 for my finished set.
That was damn good deal to me already.
The deal you mentioned is really a killer!

For the '07, it is a great price. I got them from Mason City Honda. He offers everything at 20% off with free shipping. I think I came across him because he posted on here a while back.

That is definitely an unbelievable price. Hopefully it comes with all of the mounting hardware. Let us know when it shows up.

This is great except your conversion from pounds to dollars is a bit off... the price before shipping is a little over $390.00. I live in DC but lets just go with your shipping estimate of $150. That's $540.00 before any painting costs since red is the only color offered. I'm not sure how much a paint job would cost considering color match to let's say, white pearl. I'd hope it would be less than $300. This still leaves this as pretty cost effective!!

I contacted them yesterday and the shipping estimate was $183.00 shipped to Canada. Of course we then pay an additional 13% tax plus any applicable duties and or brokerage fees so by the time they are in my hands I'm looking at $650 minimum but probably closer to $725.

Still a good deal I suppose but it is a lot of money.

Now if I can just figure out how to remove my Comp Werks license plate frame Id be all set. The light is i the way anyone know how I can remove this with ease? Looks like two small bolts on the rear but no tools to get back there. Thoughts?

If it is OEM, the frame should be mount direct into the back of the license plate. Let me see if I can find my original set up.

Looks to me like you need to install the original equipment rear fender with plate mount to use the OEM bags. All of this is removed when the comp werks unit is installed. Sorry I can't see how the item is mounted to give you advise.

I picked up a set off ebayUK, 350 pounds for side bags and top case with all the hardware, anther 200 pounds for shipping via UK Royal mail, then I got dinged for $110 cdn when they got delivered. It worked out to just over $1000cdn, not bad considering the two set's (just side bags) on kijiji were $550 and both 8 or 9 hours away and in not as good shape.

The funny part was I paid for then on Friday via paypal and they attempted delivery on Monday, but I ended up getting them on Tuesday morning. And it wasn't until Tuesday afternoon paypal took the money out of my account.

These bags are awesome, more secure than softbags and waterproof to top it off. Add to that the side bags can hold a 12pk of beer bottle and 6+ loose cans each easily if you have to do a beer run once you arrive at your destination.

That is correct. I am not a fan of the stock fender but the instructions say to attach the mounting hardware to it. It probably provides very little support but probably keeps it from rattling.

Yes and there is a metal bracket behind the plastic fender that helps to stiffen things up a bit. I hope you kept yours as they are hard to find!
