Hello all. I maintained my 91 VFR and recently purchased a new (off the showroom & 0 miles) VFR 800, 2004. I'll be hitting the 600 mile service in a couple of weeks and was curious if others had done their own 600 svc. I have front and rear stands and can change oil, adjust chain easy enough. My biggest concern was which fasteners and bolts, forks, etc. should be torued to spec as I do not have a service manual, yet. But I don't want to spend 150 bucks for a glorified oil change. Thanks for the input. -Greg
Buy shop manual. Spend $25.00 and get shop manual. It'll make your life easier.eace: keep your oil and filter reciepts and document your service in the event of a future warranty claim.
If you are a member of the HRCA, you should be able to access online the maintencance manual for your model of bike. Just about all of your torque ratings will be listed.
