i previously had a gorgeous '04 with matching factory luggage and 2bros. during a weak moment, i sold it:crazy: and have been yearning for another. i just purchased a '00 yella vfr and absolutely love it. problem is that my wife loves it too....too much. she's thinking of getting her own for some touring next year as she has a R1 and a triumph daytona 675. here's the dillema. we don't want to be twinkies but want to have the right bike. 'zuks are great bikes and the dl is a vtwin. still not a vfr though. we want a newer bike but i wasn't too keen on the vtec...but the bike was dead-on reliable for 35k miles before i sold it.
any opinions? btw, if she did get a vfr, we'd have another member on the site...

Unless your wife is quite tall you dont want the storm... They are fine bikes but built for larger people. You have stated that you have had the pleasure of owning both a 6th and 5th gen so you should be aware of each of their benifits and faults. I say if you are both happy with the 5th pick up another and save yourself a few grand instead of getting a 6th gen.(Of course I might be a little bias being a 5th gen owner myself)

    tall seat height

good point 'bout the seat height. she handles her daytona well (nose bleed seat height for her) but this is for different riding. lowering is out of the question (weird handling!). looks like a vfr for her. 6th gen bikes are ridiculously cheap and the factory luggage is much bette than the aftermarket stuff for the 5th gen (besides, i want the cooler bike!).

Get a 6th Gen. They are reasonable price as this time. Shave the seat and lower 1" she will love the bike. Add heli bar if you can.
