    Hey guys,

I'm wanting to buy a Sargent seat for my 1998 VFR, however I'm not sure if there'll be any issue with the fittings of my Givi WingRack and thought I'd best double check here before buying!

I've attached some photos of my seat with the WingRack fittings, which were already on the bike when I bought it.

If no one else chimes in, you might send Sargent an email for a more definite answer. Alternatively, have you thought about going to an upholsterer? You can get a custom seat built just for you for about the same cost in most cases. Although the Sargent seat on my 6 gen is nice, in hindsight I think getting a custom seat would have been better, especially for my wife's sake, as the pillion accommodations aren't that much better than stock IMO. Even if not considering the pillion portion, the Sargent is still a "generic" seat.

Ok, I see, that's where the grab handles were. The Sargent has that OEM notch in the seat so it should clear fine.

Cheers both! Really excited to get touring, and with the Sargent seat, Helibars and Givi rack, I think I'll have a lovely setup. Man, I'm loving this bike!

You sound like I did with I got my 5th gen 10 years ago. The gear drive whine alone is intoxicating.

Any long rides planned? You in Scotland, England, Wales, N Ireland?

It most certainly is! I'm in England, and planning a nice ride out through France, Germany and Austria in August!

Cheers for the advice! Which mirrors do you have on by the way, they don't look like stock, and I've found the stock ones a royal pain in the arse to position correctly for some reason.

His mirrors are stock for his year (2000). 98-99 had what we refer to as "condoms" on the mirrors, and with the '00-'01 models, they said to hell with STDs and went bareback for better pleasure! lol. My bike is a '98 but I have condomless mirrors like that, because I don't practice safe sex with my viffer.

So I didn't end up getting a Sargent seat, as I managed to find a Tony Archer seat at a fraction of the cost. It might not be quite as comfy for as many miles as the Sargent, but it definitely feels nicer than stock! Haven't done a long day in the saddle with it yet, but hoping that it'll live up to expectations!
