Id like to modify one for using with saddlebags. I have the swmotech. I don't want to cut the one that came with the bike. Was probably going to get a Chinese one.

I think you should get on test cutting one :) I have swmotech's on their way as my birthday present, I would also like to get a seat cowl eventually but with neither I'm not sure what I'm going to need to do to make them work together.

Do you have pics of your swmotech setup somewhere?

Here's a pic from the rear, as you can see the upper mount for the racks uses the grab handles as a spacer. I was wondering if I could replicate the grab handles with a spacer made out of aluminum, or cut the grab handles, but I would hate to do that, plus the grab handles seem like a good spot to tie on to. I figured a half moon cut on the side should do it. I'll try to get some better pics tonight.

Dino1 - my apologies. There's a Dino on this forum that's a friend of mine. He rides a '99, which is red. So when I saw the request for the yellow (which my bike is), I thought he had some devious plan.

A case of mistaken identity. Or just plain stupidity! Sorry about that.

    Thanks Dino

Though it looks like I'll have to worry about what I'm going to do with the lower rear mounts because of my non-oem plate mount. I guess I'll have to work that out before I get to any fun with a seat cowl.

Need a pic?? of my plate? The adapter for the rack uses the stock license plate holder screws. The left front mount sucks to get it cammed in, just no way to get to it, the rack is in the way.

Sure if you have one. Do the two lower rear mounts just attach to the plate holder? Or do they also attach to each other?
