Hey Guys...I live smack dab in the middle of Orlando and Daytona Beach where you can get sunburned in December. Just did a complete coolant flush, ran distilled water through twice, dumped it, then filled with Honda Blue goo coolant. Running in 6th gear, 80mph, about 5800rpms, my temp is anywhere between 190 and 205 degress F. In traffic jumps up to 220, fan kicks on at 218F. Is it me or is that a little hot?

FL is not exactly the coolest place on the planet but still, seems a little warm.

I have done several cool downs and top offs of coolant. I hit the twisties and rev'd the rpms through the country in an attempt to work out the air bubbles.

Advice? Am I worried over nothing? Any Fellow Viffer riders near Daytona? Thanks Guys! - Jeremy

I routinely see 220-225 here in the Sacramento CA heat, and thats when its only 95* out. I've seen upwards of 235 before in summer heat and traffic, but she always starts the next day.

From what I read the bike shuts off at 252? I dont know much about the bike, as I only had it a few weeks at most now. But I also notice the operating temp. I live in a warm area of hawaii and in traffic ive seen it go up to about 218 or so, but never higher. And it seems that the only area with traffic that I rarely have to deal with only lasts about 20 minutes. So by the time I start cruising at 30-40 again the temp drops quick. On my normal commute - 10 or so miles to work - the bike runs upper 170's to lower 180's riding at about 50-60mph. And I usually ride the bike in the mid to upper 3k rpm's. Ive taken some further cruises on open road with no traffic - about 20 miles - and notice it going up to 200 when im finding a nice place to park to chill for a bit. Ive read quite a few threads and what not about this and it seems to be normal for these bikes to run in the range youre describing, especially given the weather in your part of Florida. Like I said im not very experienced with bikes in general, but I hope this gives you a little piece of mind. I always stress about things like this too and just being able to read other peoples experiences sometimes helps. lol.

The Local powersports joint seems to think I may have air bubbles in my radiator/ coolant system....I think im gonna drain it all and run Cycle works Engine ice in it. Ive heard that stuff is awesome. It was 86 degrees here today....july and august are yet to come....better get it cooled down.
