I'm surprised he was riding with that much of a fuel load!. I always ride with the bare minimum at the track.

Nice! Although I think his camera shows too much of the dash board.

I saw that fuel gauge and thought wonder if he knows how much better the viffer handles with next to no fuel. Agree OOTV, could have been just a tad higher, maybe catching a bit of the speed o too if it's possible.

Hi RVFR - I have been [far too] immersed in motorcycling webfo today, and I can't recall where I saw a good pic of your gen 5 [beautiful motorcycle] and its rearsets. I like the pegs you've adapted to your motorcycle - they look like OEM Honda, but I don't recognize them. I've been looking through gen 5 rearset options and dreading the cost I'd be facing to get rid of my rubber-padded [like my cell] stock footpegs. OOTV also talked me through some of the rearset options - thanks for taking the time, OOTV.

RVFR, which footpegs did you find to blend so nicely with your gen 5, and were there any obstacles to fitting them up?

    Thanks!

No problem LOL of all things they are Chinese knock offs, but couldn't be happier. smh at first, as I couldn't find any way of making the 4th gens fit , so in a crazy search I found these on ebay, at a price that made me re think, but since I've lost more money on crazier things I went for it, Bingo, we have a winner. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-Footr...ash=item2cb7c4a774:g:vi0AAOSwxp9W2TVG&vxp=mtr

Yep - those are the ones. That is exactly the reasonable solution I've been looking for. I've had Sato and Woodcraft rearsets on race bikes and they were very nice for hard core track work, but I have had to tone down my approach to this and other projects I get infatuated with for my VFR. Thanks for the link and access to your research.

It's cool to share whats known.. speaking of, if you go this route, I used the OEM pin, it's a bit better than the circlip thingy that comes with em.

Yep, I like your attitude, and the attitudes of almost everyone on this forum. I'm participating a little more here and there, and I'm looking for opportunities to contribute when I can [I've been much more a rider than a mechanic until the last few years].

Update - bummer - the link you shared for the rearsets took me to a selection of fuses on ebay. I looked through the variety of rear sets available for 98-01 VFRs [Including spike pegs!] and only found these that were similar, but they don't fit the VFR:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-Footr...2acb532&pid=100005&rk=5&rkt=6&sd=322342202261

I'll send the vender of these rear sets a message and ask if they make a version to fit the gen 5 VFR.

Amazing. My first, second, and third attempts to go to the ebay posting you shared were all cut and pasted into my browser. Don't know why I didn't just click on it from vfrw, but doing so worked. I see what you mean about the price!!

That was cool. You know it's not stateside with all those service vehicles, signs, and personnel on the track while bikes are circulating!

Can anyone identify the other bikes in the vid? Looked like he was beating them mostly in the turns with superior cornering capability/skills and braking later than the others although one of his comments said something about losing most of his braking power halfway through.
