Any 5th Gen mirrors will work but the 1998 and 1999 were the same condom style as the 3rd while the 2000 and 2001 have a rigid arm with no condom. To buy them new you are looking somewhere between $80-$100 each. They are in high demand and sometime pop up on fleabay.

yeh I hate my replacement Emgo condom mirrors. Rubber stalk thing sux, would like to see some pictures of other year mirrors on the third gen bike. Other than those rubber boots looking nasty, the bike looks better now than the day I bought it over 15 years ago and 75,000. Cheers

Well I just ordered some condomless Emgo replacements for the 2000-2001 model and am hoping they are a direct fit on my 93. I'll post some pics and let you know how it works out. They only cost $35 each.

so the cbr mirror base needs 1 hole redrilled .. if you know a machinist .. it would be a 2 min task

Well my 5th Gen EMGO replacement mirrors arrived yesterday and they bolted right on to my 3rd Gen without any modification required. It took all of 3 minutes to swap out and now I have a cleaner look without those ugly rubber condoms on the mirrors. I'm quite pleased for $35 each. Pics to follow.
