    Hey guys,

    I just completed the 520 chain conversion w/ -1Front, +2 Rear (15/45) teeth on my 1993
It seemed slightly more peppy off the line but it seems there was a bigger trade off than I expected?

The bike revs higher ( thats ok)
The speedo seems to be inaccurate
the top speed seems to have dramaticly been reduced (said 105 in 6gear)
but the speedo is off because cars where passing me with readings of 95MPH
So I couldnt have been going that fast...more like 80-90 in 6gear
which is bad because before I wouldnt hit 6th gear until well over 100.

    1. Is this correct? I didnt think that the trade-offs where is severe?
    2. Is there some sort of speedo fix that the shop neglected to do?

    Thanks
    -S

Yes, you changed the gearing, that's the trade off, better acceleration and less top speed.

    You need a speed-o-healer.

    Well...

    It appears I am S.O.L. , I can only find them from 94+ VFRs. (I have a '93.)
Anyone else know where to pick one up for a 3rd Gen.?

Looks like for now I'll just have to find the mark and over-compensate for the difference in MPH.

According to the FAQ on the speedohealer website (HealTech Electronics Ltd. - Makers of the GIpro/ATRE and SpeedoHealer) it says it can be used on ALL (except some BMW vehicles, that need an adapter) vehicles that have a 3 wire speed sensor or two wire ground switch sensor.

You should be good to go.

Pearl, another option would be to get the correct size sprockets and use the new chain. You could then eBay the old sprockets to recoup some funds. FWIW
