    PLEASE HELP!

My 2000 vfr800 has a dead key ignition switch. I know this because it died on me, and when i jiggle the wire behind the key switch it powers the bike back up. The switch broke, so i cut the wires and got another keyed switch.

    HERE IS THE PROBLEM:
My bike has 4 wires to the ignition. Red, Red/Black, Blue/Yellow? AND A PINK WIRE.
my clymer repair manual shows only 3 in the wiring diagrams.

When i connect all the wires together, my bike 'keys on' like it should, only my PGMFI lights stays ON and the bike wont start. It kicks over, but it wont start. Also i noticed that the bike does not make that familiar airbox selenoid whine that it usually does imidiatly after keying on.

DOES anyone know what the 4th ignition wire is?
DOES anyone know why my PGMFI light wont turn off after 'key on'
DOES anyone know why my bike wont fire up now?

    THANKS!

The pink wire goes to the ECM.
