Even bypassing the solenoid/relay it won't crank or will crank very slow. I had the starter checked and a rebuild place, they said it was OK.
New gel battery still no crank. Yesterday before the problem I went on a short ride and everything seems normal, good power, nice idle etc.
The ground and positive wires seen fine. I did get a little puff of smoke in the vicinity of the battery trying to start it yesterday, the fuse is OK.

    Thanks
    Chris

Clean the battery trerminals with sandpaper and be sure they're really tight, doing both ends of the negative lead.

Also, remove and sand the big wires, posts and nuts on the solenoid.

With Fiats in the family you're used to troublesome machines, eh ?
