4th gen - Gas leak only when running

I started the bike up for my morning commute and then went inside to put my gear on while the bike warmed up. After I was ready (2-3 minutes) I went back out and there was about a quart of gas on the garage floor. It was dripping onto the front left fairing, as far towards the rider as it could be. It only drips when the bike is running. I haven't been able to ride for the past 3-4 weeks. I have read a few posts and believe it is either a bad/cracked/loose hose or a stuck float in the carbs. Any ideas? What should I be looking for when I get home tonight and start working on it? My plan was to remove the fairing and startup the bike to see if it leaks again and if I can pinpoint the leak.

 

sounds like a float may have hung up. A few light but firm taps with the blunt end of a screwdriver usually works.
