Not sure if your using 4th on 5th, or 5th on 4th.

The rear wheels are swappable, but not the front.

The front wheels look the same? Know that the 3rd and 4th front wheels are different.

I know that 5th & 6th gen front and back are swappable because I did that when I bought my '07.

3rd gen rear wheels work with any VFR from 3rd thru 6th gen. The 5th gen introduced the linked brakes, so the fork bottoms will not be compatible with with a 4th gen. The space from the rotor to the wheel is most likely different too. The part #'s on Partzilla are different for the wheel and the rotors.

I would just say that they are not swappable to the OP
