Hey everyone, I just got a brand new 2006 pear white VFR the day before Thanksgiving. What a blast. This is my 4th bike in 7 months and my last. Started out with my brother in laws Honda 750 Shadow spirit. Then went to the Victory Vegas. Then Kawasaki ninja 650R (2006) and now the VFR. My husband is ready to commit me to a mental hospital. he he

Anyone out there want to cruise the Georgia mountains let me know. I live in Georgia and looking for people to ride with.

Welcome to the group. What was the deal with the ninja? I was thinking that would be the perfect bike for my wife. She is totally scared of riding a "big" bike. She sat on the ninja and felt like it was a pretty good fit although she's trying to talk me into getting her the littler 250 which I keep telling her she tire of in a couple months. We may end up compromising on the EX500. Why did you get rid of it so fast? (the 650 that is) I love the look of that bike.

Reg, if you're looking for a middle-weight bike for your wife, go for the SV650 over the Ninja. I've ridden both & the SV is better in just about every measureable parameter. The SV has a very neutral power band & reacts directly to your brain waves, the handling is that good.

If you got the $$$ get a Ducati Monster S2R 800. Nothing comes close to looking like sex on two wheels as the Monsters with the SSSA.

I loved the ninja, it was very easy to handle after the Victory. Felt like a moped. I would not have gotten rid of it however, the deal on the VFR was tooooooo good. I wasn't even looking. Your wife would love the bike. Best value for the money.

Hey Reg - I liked the Ninja 650 also and it is a great bike. The Suzuki SV 650 is a good starter bike and/or a daily rider and maybe a little more refined than the Ninja 650 since it has been around longer. The other thing about the SV 650 that I noticed is the riding position seems a little more aggressive than the Ninja 650. I am actually looking at a new 2003 Suzuki SV1000s which I fit on pretty good and the price is right (great suspension - fully adjustable) which makes me kinda biased. The good thing is the SV 650 is cheaper and has been around longer which makes me think it has a slight edge , but you cannot go wrong with either bike. Check the link below for a head to head comparison with the 650 Ninja and the SV 650. I am also prone to go with a Suzuki since I have had good luck with their bikes.

My wife and I share a standard SV 650 that we lowered w/ Hyabusa dogs and Corbin solo saddle.

I would like to make it a track bike, but I'll probably have to buy a SV650S or Fischer 650 for that,:blah:

I ordered a 2003 SV 1000, it handled like a pig with in hinge in the middle. I ended up with my current VFR because of it.

One man's pig is anothers sweetie!

I like the Ninja 650 better than the SV, so it is definately a ride them both, and whatever she likes best sort of thing.

FZ6 is also a nice midsized, non full on sportbike ride.

I thought I was bad with 3 bikes in about, well really if you go date first one sold to date last one, VFR, bought, I don't think it was a full month...
    Wife loved that! ;-)

Welcome, ssvensson. My wife rides an 03 SV650S. On Sunday I finally got her to try my VFR.( a 2006 Pearl White also). The first thing she said when we stopped was " I want one". So hopefully I'll be shopping for another vfr soon. Hope you enjoy the site, and be on the look out for a ride this spring at Deals Gap.
